Case study: Studentlife.dk
A personal experience for a personal product.
StudentLife sells custom graduation caps to Danish students, a product connected to one of the most personal moments in a young person's life. They needed a site that reflected that meaning, and a configurator that made the ordering process feel as personal as the product itself.
Scope of work
- Full website design
- UX and interface design for the cap configurator
- Product presentation and content structure
- Collaboration with Elipse Studio on development
Approach
Does this make the experience feel as personal as the product?
The project started with a full audit of the existing site. The WordPress installation was rebuilt from scratch, and the design direction was redefined to better reflect the emotional weight of the product.
We redesigned the full UX, restructuring the layout, content hierarchy, and product presentation across all three cap tiers. Every decision was guided by one question: does this make the experience feel as personal as the product itself?
The 3D configurator was the most complex part of the project. We managed its development from concept to implementation, working closely with Elipse Studio, who built and integrated the tool.
The result is a clear and intuitive configurator that allows students to choose their academic programme, colours, and embroidery details before placing an order, without needing instructions.
